Mother’s Love

Mother’s Love

As she looked at him and cried
Bringing out the feelings buried deep inside
But it seems no one would understand
Her little child had transformed into a beast that the society could not stand
So he has been asked to go
To a world where his sins can be atoned
But who can stop the mother from crying
Pouring out her love for the child from deep inside

Smiles to give before I weep

Smiles to give before I weep

Who caused these wounds I think I know.
His memory lives in my heart though;
He will not know I am thinking about him
To feel his wounds fill my heart and grow.

My little mind must think it queer
To think about him without him being near
And feeling the wounds and the frozen heart
The darkest evening of the year.

The mind gives heart a little shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the weep
Of shattered heart and broken dreams .

The wounds are painful, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And smiles to give before I weep,
And smiles to give before I weep.

The Warrior

The Warrior

The lone warrior stood on the battleground
As the corpses lay all around
The ones he had killed with his bare hands
A twinge of pain and sorrow for their deaths he felt

Some of them, young innocent men
Dying for a cause which did not even affect them
Why did they come to this cursed battle to die
What about their families, thinking of them he cried…

But life is fair his master had taught
These men deserved to die, that’s why they fought
But what about him, the one who remains alive
With their blood on his hands, how will he survive

Soon his people will come to take him away
Back to his land, where there’ll be parties night and day
But when he returns home and meets his mother again
Won’t he hear the cries of mothers whose sons he has slain

Isn’t it a curse to be alive
And feel the pain of parents whose sons have died
But then as his master said
Some die in battles and pay their dues with their life
While others win wars and stay alive, only to suffer every moment of their wretched lives …

Togetherness

Togetherness

She waits for him to come back from work
It’s late but there is something that she needs to talk
She’s been thinking about it a lot
And for days, in her mind, she has fought

There was a time when he loved her still
And cared for her and paid attention to everything she speaks
But now that the love is gone
Buried in the worries of the world to which they belong…

She is still young and she
Can still fight the world, but does She still have the will to start again?

The door-bell rings, he returns back home
Lost and tired, she can see the pain he has borne
He looks at her surprised
And asks what’s up my wife

She smiles and says she loves him
She knows that even if she leaves him
She will come back again
She can never leave him this way
Cause the bond they have is stronger than the love gone astray…

The Truth

The Truth

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth
Was her demand as she looked into my eyes
I told her I… And then… and then… I don’t know why
But I couldn’t go on…

How could I tell her the truth?
As her innocent eyes looked into mine
Trying to find a clue or a slightest hint
But the words would not come out
My mind was filled with doubt

It was a simple question…
Shall I tell the truth and break her heart
Or shall I just tell a lie
I don’t know why, but I just spoke …
It’s all right, everything is all right

I could now see a twinkle in her eyes
And she smiled
She said I knew god would make it all right

I know I had lied…
But the truth would have broken her heart and she would have cried
I loved her more than my life
And I could not bear to see the pain in those beautiful eyes

Then I remembered what my mother had said
A truth that shatters an innocent heart must never be said
I know today I have spoken a lie
But that lie has saved an innocent life
And if I meet the lord in this world or next
I am sure that he would forgive me for that…

The Meeting

The Meeting

He saw her at the market
The uneasiness that he felt
The lovely face, the sparkle in the eyes – the feelings that she beget
Shall I go and meet her, or do I just hide
That was the dilemma that he dwelt…

Then she saw him and smiled
The past memories came back in both their minds
The joyful moments and her smile
The pain of separation and how he cried deep inside

Then he went to meet her and awkwardly smiled
She asked how are you doing, is everything fine
He said you know I loved you and wanted you to be my wife
She replied with a Hmm and moved on with her life…
