Two of a kind (micro-poetry)

Two of a kind

The chappie and the girlie were two of a kind
Both introverts, both interested in other’s minds
While he dated the girls who read
The guys she dated, were the ones she read…

Words

She looked into his eyes
But couldn’t express the feelings that she had deep inside
Her life was going on just fine
Till he casually looked at her and smiled

She meant to tell him how much he mattered in her life
But she could not find the right words that would express her emotions just right
As he walked away from her sight, her heart cried –
My words will never mean anything to you, as much as I try
Yours, on the other hand, give meaning to my life

Mother’s Love

Mother’s Love

As she looked at him and cried
Bringing out the feelings buried deep inside
But it seems no one would understand
Her little child had transformed into a beast that the society could not stand
So he has been asked to go
To a world where his sins can be atoned
But who can stop the mother from crying
Pouring out her love for the child from deep inside

Togetherness

Togetherness

She waits for him to come back from work
It’s late but there is something that she needs to talk
She’s been thinking about it a lot
And for days, in her mind, she has fought

There was a time when he loved her still
And cared for her and paid attention to everything she speaks
But now that the love is gone
Buried in the worries of the world to which they belong…

She is still young and she
Can still fight the world, but does She still have the will to start again?

The door-bell rings, he returns back home
Lost and tired, she can see the pain he has borne
He looks at her surprised
And asks what’s up my wife

She smiles and says she loves him
She knows that even if she leaves him
She will come back again
She can never leave him this way
Cause the bond they have is stronger than the love gone astray…

The Truth

The Truth

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth
Was her demand as she looked into my eyes
I told her I… And then… and then… I don’t know why
But I couldn’t go on…

How could I tell her the truth?
As her innocent eyes looked into mine
Trying to find a clue or a slightest hint
But the words would not come out
My mind was filled with doubt

It was a simple question…
Shall I tell the truth and break her heart
Or shall I just tell a lie
I don’t know why, but I just spoke …
It’s all right, everything is all right

I could now see a twinkle in her eyes
And she smiled
She said I knew god would make it all right

I know I had lied…
But the truth would have broken her heart and she would have cried
I loved her more than my life
And I could not bear to see the pain in those beautiful eyes

Then I remembered what my mother had said
A truth that shatters an innocent heart must never be said
I know today I have spoken a lie
But that lie has saved an innocent life
And if I meet the lord in this world or next
I am sure that he would forgive me for that…

The Inspiration

The Inspiration

She was his inspiration
Her words had the power to move the nation
Her beauty, her smile
The sparkle in her eyes

He longed to meet her one day
Wondering what would he say
Would he able to be his charming best
Or would he suddenly turn silent – that was the question that burdened his chest

Finally he got a chance to meet her
He was scared, he was nervous
Thinking of her, his heart would stir
Would she give me a loving smile
Will she give me another inspiration to write

Finally he went to her and said hi
Exchanged pleasantries and told her why
She was so important to him
Her smile, her words, her everything inspired him
He begged her to once again give him the missing zing
But she just shrugged, broke his heart and said
“U r a poet write any random thing”

The Meeting

The Meeting

He saw her at the market
The uneasiness that he felt
The lovely face, the sparkle in the eyes – the feelings that she beget
Shall I go and meet her, or do I just hide
That was the dilemma that he dwelt…

Then she saw him and smiled
The past memories came back in both their minds
The joyful moments and her smile
The pain of separation and how he cried deep inside

Then he went to meet her and awkwardly smiled
She asked how are you doing, is everything fine
He said you know I loved you and wanted you to be my wife
She replied with a Hmm and moved on with her life…
